Welcome to North Kitsap Neighbors For Peace Website

How it began....
'North Kitsap Neighbors for Peace,' was inspired by the PortTownsend Peace Portrait postcard. Six of our peace activists who had been traveling to Seattle for WTO protests and peace vigils wanted to
Bring peace activity home to North Kitsap. Several are involved with Ground Zero. Other interested friends hopped on board. Soon a date for our own North Kitsap Neighbors for Peace Portrait was set for January 11, 2003. Then the e-mails and phone calls started flying. Volunteers literally popped up.
The Neighbors came from nearby small towns including Eglon,Hansville, Indianola, Kingston, Little Boston, Port Gamble and Suquamish. Nearly 1,500 postcards have journeyed from North Kitsap around the world to elected officials, heads of state, friends and relatives proclaiming our NO WAR message. We also wanted to know whom our neighbors are who stand for peace. We are more than we ever imagined! If you haven't joined us, do so!
Power to the peaceful!
